NONPOINT SOURCE PROgrams

The UCRA has been a project participant in the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Nonpoint Source (NPS) Abatement Program since the early 1990's. In Texas, projects are managed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) NPS Program and the Texas State Soil & Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB) NPS program.
UCRA's first award was received in 1994 and nine others have followed over the last 27 years. The agency is currently involved in the Brady Creek Watershed Protection Implementation Plan Project and the Concho River Bank Stabilization Project in San Angelo. The Robert Lee Chloride Monitoring Study was completed in 2022.
UCRA's projects have been recognized on the state and national level as examples of highly effective programs, demonstrating the needs and benefits of structural and non-structural controls.
